Free; suggested donation of $5 for the workshop

Randy Henderson is the author of the darkly humorous The Family Arcana trilogy. The series begins with Finn Fancy Necromancy, in which we meet necromancer Finn Graymaraye. After serving twenty-five torturous years for a crime he did not commit, Finn is soon to be released from his disembodied imprisonment. But it would seem the same someone who framed him before is back--and up to their old tricks. What’s a necromancer to do? Finn’s adventure continues with Bigfootloose and Finn Fancy Free and Smells Like Finn Spirit. Henderson was a grand-prize winner of the Writers of the Future contest in 2014, graduated from the Clarion West workshop in 2009, and is a self-proclaimed milkshake connoisseur. His short fiction has appeared in publications such as Escape Pod and Realms of Fantasy.

Workshop: Plot vs. Character Arc vs. Story
How to make your external plot work with the inner transformation of your main characters to enhance the impact of both, and how to get unstuck when they don't play well together.

We are accepting a suggested donation of $5 for the writing workshop, though all are welcome. The workshop will begin at 7 p.m., following the reading. Interested writers may sign up for the workshop at the event, reserve a space by e-mailing getlit@ewu.edu, or by calling 509-828-1498.
